Ever feel like you aren’t cut out for motherhood? After yesterday’s temper tantrum in Walmart’s cereal aisle and today’s slamming doors, everyone else must be a better mom than you. Is there any value in what you do as a mom or are you just the maid, chauffer, and chef?

Wonder if you are doing a good job as a mom or if you are messing up your kids? My special guest, Kirsten Vossler, joins the Renewed Mama Podcast to encourage you and to help you find joy in motherhood.

Kirsten joins me from her linen closet, and I’m so happy to share our conversation with you.  Enjoy.

LISTEN ON APPLE PODCASTS

My special guest, Kirsten Vossler is a mama to ten children. She loves being a mom and knows it is God’s calling on her life.  She believes that you, as a mom, have the greatest impact inside the four walls of your home raising and training the sweet children God has blessed you with.  As Kirsten says, “Little me mothering my own children literally has the power to change the world.”

Through her podcast, Rejoicing in Motherhood, Kirsten encourages moms to believe in the power their lives hold in the very simple, normal, day-to-day mothering of their children.

We are a force to be reckoned with, Mama—you and I!

FINDING YOUR VALUE IN MOTHERHOOD

Kirsten believes strongly in rejoicing in motherhood and finding the value of motherhood. If you doubt your value in motherhood, you are not alone. Today’s culture is negative about motherhood with more value placed on what a woman did before children or what she will do after her children are grown. Kirsten reminds us that God loves mothers, values motherhood, and sent His son through an earthly mother.

HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB AS A MOM

Wonder if you are doing a good job as a mom? Do you worry if you are messing up your children? Before you are hard on yourself or compare yourself to others, Kirsten reminds us that your value is found in what God says about you. He loves you and there is nothing you can do that will make Him love you more or love you less. Your identity is in Christ and not in what you do or how you do it. This is the place to begin in finding your value as a mom.

Next, it’s important to remember that you are growing as a mom. You are a better mom today than when you brought your firstborn home. Lean into what you have now and what God has placed in front of you, and go with that. The fruit to look for in your motherhood is whether you are growing and becoming more like Jesus each day.

WORLD CHANGERS ON YOUR CHANGING TABLE

Kirsten reminds us that God has a destiny and plan for your children. She encourages us to see our children from God’s perspective, not just how they are now, but for who they will be in the future. To see the gift of what He wants to give the world through your children.

SUGGESTIONS FOR DEEPER CONNECTION WITH YOUR CHILDREN

Life is busy. It can be hard to find time to spend with each child individually. Kirsten shares how to find small but impactful ways to connect and build deeper relationships with your children.

ARE YOU FINDING VALUE IN YOUR MOTHERHOOD?

Hey, Mama. How are you doing? Are you fully satisfied with your motherhood? You are doing everything right and have great relationships with your children. But maybe not. Maybe you are struggling in your motherhood and feeling more like the chaufer and maid. I get you because I wrote in my journal in July 2012, “Ugg! I have never felt so low before.  How did it get like this? So unhappy, so messed up! I don’t like the mama I am.”

If that’s you, your next step is to go to Renewed Mama Coaching and book your first two coaching sessions with me.

I’ll help you to find your value in motherhood. I’ll help you find joy in the everyday tasks, even the late nights and laundry. And I’ll help you to think, speak, and respond renewed where things once set you off, annoyed or frustrated you as a mom.

If that’s what you need, go to Renewed Mama Coaching and book your first two chats today.

Share this episode with three friends you know who need to be reminded of how valuable they are as mothers.
