How can you help your child succeed in school? Whether they are in the classroom, homeschool, or doing a little bit of both, how can you best support them and help them to grow up owning their own learning, stay teachable, and eager to “figure something out if they don’t know it”?
You Can Help Your Child Succeed in School
In this conversation, Stephanie Sewell helps us understand what it means to own our own learning and what that looks like for our children. She’ll share how we can cultivate in our children an eagerness to figure something out if they don’t know it.
She’ll share that how we learn plays a big role in how we feel about ourselves and our abilities especially when we were young and how we carry that into adulthood.
We talk about passing our own learning challenges on to our children in what we say and how we respond when our children struggle.
And she’ll share how we can create a safe and helpful learning environment for our children so that they understand that it’s OK to make mistakes. That it’s OK to try something and decide it’s not for them. We can give them the permission to leave the learning opportunity and come back to it when they are ready.
